★★★★★ 5-STAR RATED CRANE HIRE SERVICES IN LONDON CPCS Certified // CPCS Certified // Mon-Fri 7am-6pm Planning Team

London Crane Hire provides a complete range of professional crane hire services across Greater London and the surrounding counties. From a single-day mobile crane lift to a multi-year tower crane installation on a major construction programme, our CPCS-certified operators and in-house lifting engineers deliver safe, documented, LOLER-compliant operations on every job.

Operating since 2008, we have worked on residential developments, commercial fit-outs, industrial installations, infrastructure projects and infrastructure maintenance across every London borough. This page summarises each service we offer, with links to full detail pages for each crane type and service category.

Mobile Crane Hire London

Our mobile crane fleet covers 8 tonnes to 500 tonnes and includes all-terrain, rough-terrain, city crane and telescopic crawler units. Mobile cranes are the most versatile option for construction sites, industrial facilities and infrastructure projects where the crane needs to reposition between lifts or travel to multiple locations.

Same-day delivery is available across Greater London for stock units, and our operators are experienced in the particular challenges of working in the capital: restricted sites, complex ground conditions and the need to co-ordinate with local authorities on road closures and proximity to the public. Tower Crane Hire London

Tower cranes are the right solution for high-rise construction, long-duration projects and sites where a fixed lifting position provides operational efficiency. We supply self-erecting, flat-top and luffing jib tower cranes from 6 tonne-metres to 300 tonne-metres. Our team manages erection, inspection, planned maintenance, tie-back engineering coordination and dismantling.

Tower crane installations in London require careful planning around planning permissions, working hours, airspace considerations and structural tie-back positions. Our engineers handle this process from the outset. Read our full tower crane hire page.

Mini Crane Hire London

Spider cranes and compact crawler cranes provide a solution for sites where conventional equipment cannot access. Our mini crane fleet covers basement plant rooms, roof gardens, internal void spaces and narrow alleyways across London. Remote-controlled operation and low ground pressure make these machines suitable for environments that cannot accept the outrigger loads of a full-size mobile crane.

Mini cranes are in high demand on London's dense urban sites, particularly for plant replacement in existing buildings and for lifting operations in basement and mezzanine spaces. More details on mini crane hire.

Contract Lift London

A contract lift is the arrangement where our company assumes full statutory responsibility for the lifting operation under LOLER 1998. We provide the appointed person, produce the method statement and lifting plan, supply the crane and all lifting accessories, and supervise every aspect of the operation.

Contract lifts are required in many situations where the client does not have an in-house appointed person, or where the complexity of the operation demands specialist lifting engineering expertise. Learn more about our contract lift service.

Crane Hire with Operator London

For clients who have a competent appointed person in-house and an approved lifting plan, we supply crane and CPCS-certified operator at competitive daily rates. The client retains responsibility for the lifting plan and appointed person role; we provide the machine and a qualified, experienced operator who will work to the agreed method statement.

Slinger/signallers and banksmen are available as an additional supply if required. See crane hire with operator details.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between crane hire and a contract lift?

With crane-only or crane-with-operator hire, the client retains legal responsibility for the lifting operation. The client must provide a competent appointed person who produces the lifting plan and takes statutory responsibility under LOLER 1998. With a contract lift, the crane hire company assumes that responsibility. Our team provides the appointed person, the lifting plan and supervises the entire operation. Contract lifts are the lower-risk option for clients who do not have lifting expertise in-house.

Do you work on residential and commercial sites?

We work on both residential and commercial sites, as well as industrial facilities and infrastructure projects. Our client base includes residential developers, main contractors, specialist sub-contractors, facilities management companies, utilities providers and industrial plant operators. If you have a lifting requirement anywhere in London or the surrounding counties, contact our team to discuss your project.

How do I know which crane is right for my project?

The right crane for a project depends on the load weight, lift radius, lift height, site access constraints, ground conditions and the duration of the hire. Our engineers carry out a free site survey at which they assess all of these factors and recommend the most appropriate crane type and configuration. Use the contact form to book a survey.
